The ICT Unit plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation and technological advancement of the Centre by providing a wide range of essential services. These include:

  1. ICT Support Services:
    The Unit offers day-to-day technical support to ensure all ICT systems, devices, and infrastructure operate efficiently. This includes resolving hardware and software issues, setting up new systems, and providing user assistance to enhance productivity across all departments.
  2. ICT Literacy and Training:
    To promote digital proficiency, the Unit conducts regular training sessions and workshops to equip staff with essential ICT skills. These programs empower employees to use modern tools and technologies effectively, fostering an environment of continuous learning and innovation.
  3. Network Troubleshooting and Maintenance:
    The ICT Unit is responsible for maintaining the Centre’s IT network infrastructure. This includes diagnosing and resolving network connectivity issues, ensuring secure and uninterrupted access to resources, and optimizing network performance to meet the Centre’s operational needs.
  4. Software Development and Maintenance:
    The Unit develops, customizes, and maintains software solutions tailored to the Centre’s specific requirements. These solutions streamline workflows, improve data management, and enhance service delivery, ensuring the Centre remains technologically competitive.
  5. Website Maintenance:
    The Unit ensures that the Centre’s website remains up-to-date, functional, and user-friendly. This includes regularly updating content, improving site performance, ensuring security, and providing a seamless digital experience for visitors.
  6. Social Network Administration:
    To enhance the Centre’s online presence, the ICT Unit manages its social media platforms, fostering engagement with stakeholders, sharing updates, and promoting the Centre’s activities and achievements.
  7. Health Management Information System (HMIS) Support:
    A critical aspect of the Unit’s responsibilities is facilitating the effective use of the Health Management Information System within the Centre. This includes routine technical support, troubleshooting system issues, and providing targeted training to ensure staff can use the HMIS effectively for data collection, analysis, and reporting to support informed decision-making.

Other functions of the Unit include:

  • Responsible for the ICT architecture, hardware and software, and installation, operation and maintenance of the same
  • Responsible for staff capacity building on ICT infrastructure utilization to enhance productivity and efficiency
  • Manage the Centre’s website
  • Develop ICT software and ensure cyber security of the Center
  • Be the clearing house for all ICT equipment procurement in the Centre
  • perform any other duty that may be assigned by the Management or the Chief Medical Director/CEO

By delivering these services, the ICT Unit ensures that the Centre operates efficiently, stays connected, and continues to leverage technology for enhanced healthcare delivery, operational excellence, and stakeholder engagement.
